Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email address, managed by our sign-in provider.
• Project information: your idea description, answers, files you upload, messages and approvals.
• Payment records: amounts, dates and payment processor references. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never stored by Shovels AI.
• Basic usage events: pages viewed and steps started, tied to a random identifier in your browser and any campaign tags in the link you followed. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use it

To review and deliver your project, communicate with you, take payment, keep records of approvals, keep the service secure, and understand which parts of the site work.

We use AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude) to help our staff draft documents from your project materials. Requests are made from our servers; your project material isn't used to train models, and we don't share one customer's files with another.

Who we share it with

• Service providers that run the platform: hosting, database and file storage, sign-in, payments, email, and AI model providers.
• Engineering and manufacturing partners, only as needed to quote or build your project, and without your personal contact details unless you agree.
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

We don't sell personal information.

Your choices

You can update your profile and email preferences in your account. You can ask us to export or delete your data; we'll do so unless we must keep certain records (for example payment and tax records) for legal reasons.

Security and retention

Data is encrypted in transit, files are private by default and downloads are issued only to authorized users. Unsubmitted anonymous drafts are deleted after 30 days. We keep project records for as long as your account is active and as required by law afterwards.
